About the Project
Built a full-stack web application for a cargo and Balik Bayan box shipping company to manage shipments, track consignments, and handle customer orders end to end.
The system was designed to replace a fragmented manual process where shipment data was tracked across spreadsheets and phone calls. My approach was to build a centralised portal where staff could log shipments, assign box types, track delivery status, and manage customer records from a single dashboard.
I used Laravel for the backend API and business logic, Vue.js for a reactive frontend that updates without full page reloads, and MySQL for relational data storage. The application was deployed on a VPS with Nginx, giving the client full control over hosting costs compared to managed platforms.
Key features included shipment creation and status tracking, customer management with shipping history, box inventory management, and a customer-facing tracking interface. The modular Vue.js component architecture made it straightforward to extend with new features post-launch without rebuilding existing screens.
